Treatment Modalities
I utilize an integrative approach to my practice including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify negative thought patterns that affect emotions and behaviors. I teach clients to restructure their thoughts to improve mood and to develop an enhanced sense of wellbeing. I also utilize psychodynamic psychotherapy which emphasizes self-awareness and explores how past experiences affect present feelings, behaviors, and relationships.
Specialized Area of Practice
I am certified by the Center for Mental Health & Aging to provide psychotherapy to older adults (65+). My focus is on highlighting resilience, adapting to change, and fostering hope for the future. Contrary to common belief, older adults are just as able to benefit from psychotherapy as are younger people. I also provide support for my clients’ family members who are caregivers.
